Kevin D. Korenthal, CAE, Executive Director

Kevin D. Korenthal, CAE, was appointed as the Executive Director of the NAPF in November 2021. In this role, Mr. Korenthal oversees the administration of the association, focusing on increasing its relevance, value, and influence within the parks and trails community.

With 2 decades of professional association and nonprofit experience, Mr. Korenthal has held various positions at construction and financial services trade associations. He has served as the executive director and board member for numerous nonprofit organizations. Notably, he led 35 chapters of a national fire sprinkler contractor association and managed six chapters of a national association dedicated to serving the community of employee-owners. Additionally, he has served as an appointed commissioner and chairperson of The City of Santa Clarita, Parks, Recreation & Community Services Commission.

Mr. Korenthal holds a marketing degree and the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives™ (ASAE). He is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Nonprofit Leadership at Indiana State University. As a below-knee amputee, Kevin also dedicates time to mentoring other amputees. Outside of work, he enjoys biking and camping. Originally from California, he now resides in McKinney, TX, with his wife, Christine, their children, Dominick and Delanie, and their dog, Ponder.
