        • What a Successful relationship with Your Park Agency Looks Like - Speakers: Matt Rosebrock, Business Development Manager, Charleston County P & R Commission and David Bennett, Executive Director, Charleston P & R Commission

        Description: Since being created in 1990, The Charleston County Parks Foundation has evolved over time and developed a special working relationship with its partner the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission. The Foundation is a project-based organization focused on the specific aspects of the parks system needing additional support. This presentation will discuss how the Charleston County Parks Foundation provides support, opportunities, and scholarships for park agency programs such as swim lessons, summer camps and much more.

            Description: The last two years have seen an unprecedented amount of federal funding that could be used for park and trail projects, and an administration that wants to use those funds to help close the park equity gap. Join us as Julie provides an overview of federal funding opportunities and how funds from non-traditional sources could assist cities in their park projects.

            • Serving All – Equitable Access to the Outdoors - Speaker: Tracey Crawford, Executive Director, Northwest Special Recreation Association

            Description: Everyone deserves the right to connect, explore, and experience the outdoors. Environmental justice is diversity, equity, and inclusion in our outdoor spaces. As park and recreation professionals, we are responsible for addressing the levels of fear, lack of access, and discrimination allowing everyone in our communities to participate in the great outdoors.
